Dr. Allena Willis
Dr. Allena Willis Kennerly has carefully crafted hundreds of smiles since starting her career as an orthodontist in 2005. She is a board qualified orthodontist and also an Invisalign® Preferred Provider who is highly skilled in the latest technologies for braces and orthodontic treatment. Dr. Willis is not only licensed to practice dentistry in Washington DC, but Maryland as well. She practiced in New York before deciding to settle in Washington DC and opening DC Headache Center.
As an orthodontist, Dr. Willis' passion is grooming young people for success. She has been passionately working with children who are predominantly from low income families for more than seven years. As a mother, wife, small business owner, and orthodontist, she knows that a positive self-esteem stems from being a healthy, confident, take-action person. All of this has allowed her to become an expert in guiding and molding others for success.
Education and Experience:
Dr. Willis completed post-graduate orthodontic training at New York University, after earning a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, Newark, New Jersey (UMDNJ). Prior to attending UMDNJ, Dr. Willis successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Spelman College in Atlanta. Working full time throughout her time at Spelman taught Dr. Willis the true value of an education and paved the way for her personal growth and success.
As a former Associate Professor at Howard University College of Dentistry, Dr. Willis taught growth and development to post-graduate residents. She currently volunteers her time for occasional lunch and learns for university residents and is also a mentor for students with an interest in dentistry and orthodontics.

Outside the Office
A native of Nevada, Dr. Willis graduated with high honors from Valley High School in Las Vegas where she was able to demonstrate her enthusiasm and leadership as a Valley High Cheerleader. Another accomplishment Dr. Willis achieved while residing in Nevada was being awarded First Runner Up in Miss Black Teenage Nevada.
Dr. Willis' main interests and hobbies include fashion, traveling with her husband, and reading to her two children, Sunny and Alix. She also enjoys being a style muse and loves all things beautiful. Dr. Willis currently holds the title of Mrs. Logan Circle and excited to be competing in the Mrs. DC 2014 pageant.
